Hey guys, I've read all the posts being scared about perfect world and torchlight being an mmo, back in the days of flagship studios, when the idea of torchlight was another game (called Mythos by the way) it was also a shared persistence world and oh my god that game was addictive. It was the perfect combination between the action rpg dungeon crawler type that I love with the online persistent capabilities and sharing that I prefer when playing a game. The feeling of going down random dungeons over and over with friends and then coming back to the main hub with new loot and pairing up with random people, showcasing the goodies was a blast. So I would really try to put the fear aside and let these people behind Echtra Games do what they do best (they are VETERANS on action rpg gameplay, from Diablo, Fate, Mythos, Torchlight ) and enjoy the spoils over time. Perfect world might have a bad reputation but on their road along with Torchlight, they have always supported Max Schaefer on whatever he needed.Best Regards and give the game a try when it's launch.

I read an IGN article on the game and it went a little into some of the details. So it seemed they removed actual stat leveling and went with a gear system, so dungeon and character progression is based on item level? That does not sound appealing at all. I love stat allocation, it is the detailed things like that which make TL2 so much fun and adds replayability.Customizing skills sounds interesting and I think that might be fun. Something I think they should add are some skill defining items. Special gear that can change the way spells or abilities work, I really want the loot hunt back. Right now TL2 lacks defining drops.

You have legendary weapons and set items, thats it.You can do some build outs with certain sets, but they are not powerful enough. More endgame viable sets would be appreciated. I will still dive into this game once it comes out, but so far feeling kind of meh. It will be fun for a Casual run however it may frustrate Hardcore players if they don't provide ways to swap Loot Chances in a Gambling option similar to Grim Dawn which provides such methods.

Through I suspect this will be 'Pay for better Chance' if provided for Frontiers. Originally posted by: Customizing skills sounds interesting and I think that might be fun. More endgame viable sets would be appreciated. I will still dive into this game once it comes out, but so far feeling kind of meh.Frontiers has the potential to provide varied combat skill options from gear yet I suspect unlike TL2 and especially unlike TL2 Modded it's going to be much slower to acquire target Items and may even need Multiplayer% Bonuses to make farming worthwhile.= = = =. Perfect world might have a bad reputation but on their road along with Torchlight, they have always supported Max Schaefer on whatever he needed.Best Regards and give the game a try when it's launch.I agree that fear should be placed aside with some understanding to replace it.Yet I can't dismiss those players whom feel that way. If the Publisher wants to convince them then they will get to prove that to the entire community once Frontiers is available.Which beings us to this historic note: 'Perfect / Arc' never had any command in monetization methods for any of these games, studios or developers officially before 2010 when they bought a majority in Runic Games and TL2 was already partially developed when that happened. There are categories of Torchlight players that respond differently towards any sequels published by 'Perfect / Arc' to define a few:1. Those who fear or avoid giving their games a chance or glimpse.2. Those who are cautious and will watch where these games go.3. Those who will play may cease depending on design changes.4.

Those who will stay because they enjoy these games regardless.= = =As long as Frontiers is better than Mobile then that's a good start.Yes, Echtra and the Arpg Dev Vets are appreciated and the game will be good on that note.Yet I dare say we have yet to see whether 'Perfect / Arc' will let them fully determine the direction of these games. Until Frontiers is available, we will continue to have a mixed response from the combined community. There's no way everyone is going to be one mind on this. That's why I like this (Torchlight Discord, Torchlight Steam and Torch Modders) community so much. So many different views and responses towards this franchise. They broaden my perspective and my optimism is balanced by their requests for a better game.
