Super Monkey Ball 2 Mini

As the poll states, if you've played the Super Monkey Ball games, which of the two best received ones did you think was best? I only just got the first one recently and plan to pick up the second one, but I want to know your thoughts. Some may ask 'Why leave out Deluxe for the PS2/XBOX?

It had both games plus more.' While true, they were not only a combination of the first two games, a problem with it is that they weren't received as accurate ports to the GameCube versions, primarily because the controls didn't translate as well from GameCube to PS2/XBOX (even worse for the PS2 version is that it suffered some framerate issues and had some long loading). And while I'm not too picky at what versions of multiplats I play (I play Mega Man Anniversary Collection on my GameCube, and that version had the controversial button swap, which to me, doesn't bug me that much), Monkey Ball (like say Dragon Age: Origins for PC, or 007: Nightfire for consoles) is one of those exceptions because of it, because from what I learned about it on GameSack (and their resident SEGA fanboy, Joe Redfer). That said. Your thoughts? I love both of these games.

I really wish Sega would make a great new Super Monkey Ball game for consoles.I preferred the first Super Monkey Ball. First of all, in the main game, Super Monkey Ball 2 had some stages that felt very luck-based whereas I felt Super Monkey Ball 1 did a better job of keeping it's stages beatable by skill and not luck.

Grab your clubs and tee off with 18 holes of banana bliss.Monkey Bowl: One of the original mini games returns for ten frames of monkey ten-pin bowling madness! -Monkey Base: With up to 4 players on one device, use your monkey to catch and launch orbs that your friends launch at you.

In Super Monkey Ball 2, they also removed Competition Mode which I never understood why they removed it and I had a lot of fun with that mode in Super Monkey Ball 1. For the mini-games, my favorite is Monkey Target and I felt Monkey Target was better in Super Monkey Ball 1. I also felt that mini-golf in Super Monkey Ball 1 was more fun than regular golf in Super Monkey Ball 2. And I did not feel that any of the new mini-games introduced in Super Monkey Ball 2 were as great as the mini-games introduced in Super Monkey Ball 1.I've also tried playing these games on other systems and they are simply unplayable without a Gamecube controller.

Huge step back from monkey ball 2 on the GAMECUBE; every fun party game is gone, replaced by unfun 'games' with awful controls and mechanics. Even the target game (the only surviving game from monkey ball 2) is broken.

This game may have been worth $40 if it were to be updated with better worlds and party games for free; as it stands, I consider myself a clown for spending any money on this game at all. Submitted on 2/13/2020 Review title of BCSMITHROCKSColorful Nostalgia that might make you Sea SickI used to really love Super Monkey Ball, but this is the first game that I've ever played that has made me feel physically ill. I had to stop playing before the 3rd boss because the constant screen movement made me feel like i was going to throw up.if you have ever had any motion sickness I would suggest skipping this game.

I'm so glad that I tried this during the Free Play days, and didn't blind buy it like I had intended to do. I really wish that there was an option to change the view and stabalize the screen.

I love Sega, the art style and the level design is fun but the difficulty ramps up very quickly, much faster than I remember from the old games. The Boss Fights are abit odd and there is no story context to them.I didn't mind them but the 2nd boss had an attack. When you get him below half health that caused me to fall off the stage multiple times, still not sure if i beat him with skill or just dumb luck.

A mode where you skip boss battles would probably make kids happy.
